The remodel of this Knightsbridge apartment building was was awarded to us in conjunction with our sister company, Buro Architects, in the Autumn of 2012. The building contained eight let apartments, plus a penthouse. Planning permission had been obtained to make substantial changes to the penthouse.
We, Buro Architects and the building’s owner agreed that construction would be scheduled to begin in September 2013, allowing a period of eight months for planning, checking, sourcing and costing, and for the landlord to give notice to existing tenants to vacate.
We commenced construction on schedule, within days of the building being vacated. Buro Architects’ specification required us to totally reconfigure the eight apartments, adjusting the allocation of space between the apartments to make the plans more logical and functional, creating better living units.
As with all our work, the construction was meticulously pre-planned, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow which will bring the project to completion ahead of schedule.
