A relatively straightforward construction project, this is a refurbishment of a handsome mansion apartment in Belgravia. We have a good deal of experience in carrying out this kind mansion block refurbishment, and so are fully familiar with the constraints and those areas of management requiring particular attention.
As is common with projects of this type, stipulations in the lease played a large role in shaping the work that could be undertaken. The bathrooms were required under the lease to remain in their position on the floor plan, maintaining their access to soil stacks. The kitchen, similarly, was required to maintain its position with access to the rising water main.
We carried out a comprehensive renewal of all services in the apartment, bringing these up to current standards, while also refurbishing all interior surfaces and fittings. We also installed new, high specification bathrooms and kitchen.
This kind of task generally takes about four months to complete. During this period we take great care to protect our client’s relationship with the building’s other occupants, minimising our impact (in terms of dust, dirt and noise) on the building’s common parts, and conducting ourselves with courtesy and respect at all times.
